Call for Peer Reviewers for Pathways Volume 4
As we start the new year, the Pathways Co-Editors, Natalya Jones and Grace Kohut, are putting out a call for Peer Reviewers for the next volume of Pathways Graduate Journal! Peer reviewers are an essential part of academic publishing. We are looking for graduate students with a background in any of the four fields of anthropology (Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, and Linguistic Anthropology) and from similar disciplines such as Indigenous Studies, Sociology, History, or Linguistics. We welcome potential peer reviewers from, as well as beyond, the University of Saskatchewan. We would like to hear from anyone interested by the end of January.

Pathways Volume 1 Coming October 2nd!
We are pleased to announce that on Friday, October 2, we will be releasing our inaugural issue of Pathways, the brand new archaeology and anthropology graduate student journal. The authors, faculty advisors, and editorial board have put in tireless effort and hard work over the past several months to make this first issue a great one that spans topics across our discipline. We can’t wait to share it with you! Be sure to check out www.pathwaysgraduatejournal.ca on Oct. 2.
We are also excited to announce that ARCHAIA is hosting a start of term/Pathways launch party on October 2 from 6-8 pm SK time and would like to invite any interested department members. To attend, click on the following Gather link (https://gather.town/app/UxHepCw7H9jC5otn/PathwaysLaunch) and simply enter your name. Gather is a videoconferencing platform that is often used for online conferences that will allow us to “mingle” virtually in a much more casual way. This will be more than just a launch party--it will also just be a great way to connect with others in the department (since socializing has been so stagnated this year). Feel free to stop by, even if just for a few minutes!
Hope to see you next Friday!
Rachel and Rebecca (Editors-in-Chief, Pathways)
PS. On Windows, Gather works best on Firefox or Chrome (not Explorer)
Submission Deadline Extended to May 1
Thank you to all of those who have submitted thus far to be in our first issue! We have decided to extend our call for submissions until Friday, May 1, 2020 to allow a little extra time for those finishing up their coursework. We look forward to promoting all the great work being done within our discipline by up-and-coming scholars such as yourselves.
